Football Super league rumours yet again !!
Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all agree to plan. Five English clubs are among 11 European teams who have signed up to a breakaway Super League in an extraordinary development on the eve of Uefa's announcement of a new Champions League format.

Shrugs shoulders Alan partridge style...

I will be glad they are gone... the premiership will be up for grabs!

I think all five should be kicked out of the league immediately which moves us up a spot đź‘Ť

No it wouldn't be. According to this article the plan is just as an alternative to the Champions League - one in which 16 are permanent members, plus 4 wildcards based on domestic performance, and all matches played midweek.

So, basically all of these 16 teams would always be the top teams in their respective leagues as they'd have a huge amount more revenue and thus spending power, regardless of their actual performance. It would be much the same as now, but with no chance of weird seasons where the likes of us or Leicester or Everton challenge for the top 4.

Wouldn’t be surprised if UEFA banned these clubs from the current European club competitions.

best for all parties that they don't play in their national leagues ,kick them out of all domestic and European competitions ,bring back straight knockout European competitions ,proper football would thrive again .

Any player participating in that rogue league would be barred from playing in the FIFA World Cup. Kinda stumbling block really

Does make me laugh how Arsenal and Tottenham consider themselves to be Superpowers these days. Can imagine they think it's the only way they will qualify as an "invite" rather than winning matches! Also intriguing that considering managers like Klopp bemoan the lack of rest between European and PL fixtures why they would want more! Money orientated obviously.

Hopefully the rest of the PL vote against it and the “big 6” are forced to breakaway.

Fuck them and their greed.

The premier league is under the fa umbrella... uefa can’t have a rival competition.

FIFA and uefa will demand these teams stand down or will be kicked out of domestic competition

They can demand what they want what they will get is another matter

Also even the uefa plans of having just 2 teams make the champions league on previous rating has caused massive push back from fans groups

I don’t see this getting off the ground

JP Morgan are fronting the money for this - as always US companies pushing the money agenda. For all you working in the City give those JPM barrow boys hell!

Uefa, fifa and 6 domestic leagues have just released a statement

UEFA statement renews threat that clubs and players that participate in any bandit league would banished from all domestic and international competitions sanctioned by FIFA/UEFA. So that would be leagues but also World Cups and Euros. (Still, FIFA has been very quiet today).

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
So what is these clubs want? To completey remove themselves from the Premier league and play each other every other few weeks? How boring would that be.

If I was involved in the FA I'd be calling each of these teams bluff. F*ck em right off.

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
What these clubs want us money, at the moment the rich six generate about ÂŁ350m more per season than the other 14 clubs.

But that's obviously not enough, that's what project big picture was all about, more power for the 6 to decide on who gets what money.

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
Gary Neville called the plans a disgrace on Sky, clubs should be deducted points in the league, could be good news for West Ham!

Romfordboy 6:46 Sun Apr 18
Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
This is going to end in an embarrassing climb down by the clubs involved

Gary Neville has just slated them and even macron has applauded the French clubs for not being on the list!

This reminds of when the Liverpool owners tried to increase the ticket prices a few years ago and all the supporters walk out after 78 mins or something! They don’t understand the fans

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
Completely agree with what is being said by Neville, absolutely disgraceful move by the money grabbing cunts.

I really hope the league sanction them in some way and let the greedy basteds leave.

The absolute narcissism of Spurs and Arsenal to think they are bigger or better supported than us. I mean, really, Spurs? Jokes

Why would arsenal and Tottenham be invited to this.

Absolutely disgraceful from those clubs

I'm fuming. Considering going next door and battering the pussy spurs fan who resides there. Who the fuck do spurs think they are. They are fucking dog shit and will do anything to keep hold of Kane. Who fucking decides that they and Arsenal deserve to be in this super league. Fucking morons.
